In Korea, the citizens who live in Korea can vote for the people they want. Consequently, presidents are elected. So what will happen if two or more people are elected in the same presidential election?
The president must be one person, but both people are voted for by citizens. To honor them, Korea uses a law to solve this problem.
In Korea's highest law, the constitution states that when there are two people with the highest votes, the person who receives a majority vote at a public meeting attended by a majority of members of the National Assembly shall be elected.
In the U.S., the representative ballot is used for electing the president. Therefore, it has a lot in common with the Korean voting system.
So, if someone receives the exact same vote in the presidential election, they are elected by a member of parliament.
